Gisela Ayub is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with an advanced degree, as Doctor in Nursing Practice. She is also licensed in different states as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Gisela holds two Masters in Science in Nursing (MSN) degrees. Her first MSN degree with emphasis on Psychiatry as a Clinical Nurse Specialist from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, CA, and her second MSN degree emphasis in Psychiatry as a Nurse Practitioner from Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA. The Doctorate in Nursing Practice, from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, CA, was focused in Psychiatry. The DNP project focused in providing psychiatric education to low-income and underserved populations, mostly, Spanish Speaking clients.

Gisela’s goal has been and will always be to continue providing the best psychiatric care she can provide to everyone who seeks help. She tries her best to educate everyone, regardless of personal preferences, race, ethnic backgrounds, or religious beliefs. Gisela has chosen this profession to help those who need our help. Her main focus is to listen well to each individual and their own needs. Gisela loves her profession, and cares deeply for each patient. Gisela always does her best to help anyone who asks for help.

She sees her patients as family members. Gisela likes asking herself, if a patient was part of her family, what kind of care would she like her family member to receive? And this is exactly what Gisela would try her best to offer. Gisela likes educating patients about treatment options and allowing them to make their decisions. Her approach is a team effort. Treatment should be practiced as a team, practitioner and patient needs as a common goal focused on the patient’s needs. Gisela’s mission is to utilize evidence-based practice care, to always treat everyone with fairness, respect, and understanding, to never judge, and to always listen to each patients’ needs.

Outside of work, Gisela loves soccer, hockey, football, and spending time with her family and her dogs. She enjoys walking in nature, dancing, music, and reading.
