I kind of don't know where to start but I've always struggled with mental health and with those struggles has come lots of visits at various psychiatrist, therapist and clinics. With a lot of those visits I've kind of became accustomed to sub par service not feeling like I was heard and really turned into a guinea pig and again I think the biggest part is not feeling like you're heard or valued as a person and are just a copay and insurance deductible to almost all of these different places Ive been. So I was skeptical when I signed up for this place. I do like that they have therapist and psychiatrist in the same office as well as the option to do in person and telehealth. I had my first therapist appointment earlier in the week and it felt good to have somebody actually listen and make me feel respected at the same time. I can honestly say in my 30 plus years of dealing with different therapists and psychiatrist I have never had such a positive visit and felt a connection to my therapist like this and only after one session. I usually dreaded appointments in the past but I'm actually excited and optimistic about my treatment plan. I felt so comfortable and confident I booked out for the next 3 months!! Today I had my first psychiatry appointment and just like it went with my therapy appointment it was just like a breath of fresh air for the first time ever I had a doctor actually showed compassion and listen. This doctor actually understood and it was the first time I've ever heard a doctor explain how I am feeling and put it in terms that I could understand with a solid plan going forward and not just suggest swallowing a bunch more pills or tell me I'm basically broken and no amount of medicine will fix me! Yes that was actually told to me by a licensed psychiatrist just recently and that was the same Dr that over prescribed me to many SSRI's and I had a very serious reaction called serotonin syndrome. In a way I'm glad it happened and forced me to find Lifestance and take control of my treatment plan. I don't know where lifestance is finding these doctors and therapists or what the work culture is or maybe it's just the water but they foster such a welcoming and compassionate setting that I actually feel optimistic for the first time in over a decade about my treatment plan going forward. I'm so happy I found this office and I will definitely recommend anyone that may be struggling with mental health to give this office a try.

Jolanta has been the best medication management provider I’ve ever had. I feel blessed that my LifeStance therapist recommended her after my UCSD NP provider made major medication errors. She corrected my sleep med, as I had been suffering for years from insomnia caused by my cystic fibrosis gene modulator. She also prescribed an OTC nutritional supplement and even advised me about how to avoid low blood sugar-cortisol spike awakenings during sleep. She’s also assisting me with weaning off of a benzodiazepine correctly, another problem created by my prior provider. I highly recommended her.
