About Taylor Shorts (She/Her)

Taylor Shorts, PMHNP-BC, ANCC, helps adolescents, teens, adults, and seniors throughout California find greater stability, improve daily functioning, and move toward their mental health goals through personalized psychiatric medication management. As a Nurse Practitioner at LifeStance Health, she partners with patients facing concerns such as ADHD, anxiety, and depression while also supporting individuals with a broad range of psychiatric conditions. Her approach is collaborative, compassionate, and goal oriented. Taylor values open communication and patient education, empowering individuals and families to better understand their symptoms, treatment options, and progress. She strives to create an environment where patients feel respected, supported, and actively involved in their care decisions. Taylor incorporates principles from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and parenting-focused interventions to support the overall treatment process alongside medication management. She has experience serving members of the LGBTQ+ community, military veterans, and first responders. In addition to these areas, she provides care for a variety of other mental health conditions across the lifespan. Taylor earned her education from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock and The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, building a strong clinical foundation in psychiatric and behavioral health care. Outside of her professional work, Taylor enjoys hiking and traveling.
