Kahesha Ricard, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC
My mission and philosophy: to combine foundational psychiatric knowledge with evolving neuroscience, integrative approaches, and emerging therapies to help people break through the mental and emotional barriers preventing them from living fulfilling, connected, and meaningful lives. I am extremely passionate about expanding the way we view healing within mental health care and believe treatment should extend beyond simply managing symptoms and that stigma has no place in this realm any longer. My goal is to help people rediscover hope, purpose, balance, joy, and the ability to create a life that feels beautiful, authentic, and prosperous to them.
Mental health has never looked isolated to me.
After years of working in critical care, oncology, plastics, telephonic triage, hospice, and long-term care/memory care, one thing became impossible to ignore: psychiatric health quietly influences nearly every part of the clinical picture. Biological processes, life experiences, relationships, environmental stressors, and perception shape the way people function, respond, heal, and move through daily life.
That repeated overlap is what ultimately bridged my path into psychiatry.
As an PMHNP-BC, I believe clients deserve more than just a diagnosis. They deserve continuity of care, genuine investment from their providers, education, guidance, and a space free of stigma where real progress becomes possible. I have always connected naturally with people – especially the guarded, apprehensive, and overwhelmed. Building therapeutic alliance, creating trust, navigating conflict, and helping people feel safe enough to engage in change have been consistent threads throughout my nursing career and are now central to my psychiatric practice.
My clinical training has included pediatric and adult outpatient psychiatry, psychotherapy, psychopharmacologic management, ADHD/autism spectrum care, trauma-related disorders, suicidality, conduct disorders, and post-incarceration reintegration counseling utilizing CBT, DBT, and ACT modalities.
I am especially passionate about forward-thinking mental health care, including integrative psychiatry, ketamine and other medication-assisted therapies, plant-assisted therapies, hypnotherapy, TMS, and evolving evidence-based modalities that create more individualized healing.
My intention is simple: to educate, empower, and guide patients toward healing, hope, and a brighter tomorrow.
