Kahesha Ricard helps children, adolescents, teens, adults, and older adults across Colorado navigate mental health challenges with compassion, clinical expertise, and a commitment to individualized care. As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at LifeStance Health, she provides medication management and psychiatric treatment for conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, and depression, while recognizing that every person’s experiences, strengths, and goals are unique. Her approach is centered on helping patients move beyond symptom management toward greater emotional wellness, resilience, and quality of life. Kahesha is especially passionate about supporting individuals who are recently discharged from a psychiatric hospital, involved in court-ordered treatment, or facing current legal matters. She understands that these situations can create significant stress and uncertainty, and she works collaboratively with patients to develop practical treatment plans that foster stability, accountability, and hope. She strives to create a supportive, judgment-free environment where patients feel respected, heard, and empowered throughout their recovery journey. Drawing from a diverse healthcare background that includes critical care, oncology, hospice, long-term care, and psychiatry, Kahesha takes a whole-person approach to treatment. She has experience helping individuals manage ADHD, trauma-related concerns, and alcohol or drug use issues, while also providing care for a wide range of additional mental health conditions. Her work frequently includes supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental disabilities, and military veterans. She incorporates evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) principles into her treatment approach when appropriate. Kahesha earned her advanced psychiatric nursing education through Walden University and is passionate about staying current with emerging research in neuroscience, integrative psychiatry, and innovative approaches to mental health care. She believes that education, therapeutic relationships, and collaborative care are essential components of lasting progress. Outside of her clinical work, Kahesha enjoys exploring Colorado’s National Parks, hiking, learning new languages, watching documentaries, and spending time with her son, whose experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder inspired her career in mental health. She also enjoys road trips, training for 5K events, cooking, building Lego sets, and spending time with her family and grandcat, Layo.
