Shyu treats patients between the ages of 18 and 99 years old Connie Shyu is a board certified Physician Assistant who treats a wide range of psychiatric conditions with special interest in anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, and women’s issues like post partum/perimenopausal mood and anxiety conditions. Connie earned a B.S. from University of Illinois and an MA in Medical Sciences from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL. She practiced in a variety of medical specialties including pulmonary and sleep medicine, pain management, and inpatient and outpatient psychiatry. When treating clients, Connie works to educate and is open to trying new things to discover what works best for each individual. In every case, her mission is to improve overall mood, enhance functioning, and decrease chances for relapse.

Honestly, I hate to leave a great review, because that only means my provider Connie will get even busier ;) !!! In all seriousness, I have found a true gem. We all go through a sense of fear and anxiety when finding a new provider for whatever reason, my case was moving from out of state. When looking at her photo online she just looked so kind and that made me comfortable going through with the initial appointment. Boy oh boy was I right! When I say even her voice is calming and reassuring, it’s so comforting. From the moment I made the phone call and speaking with the front desk, to meeting everyone and getting the service (top quality) that I need, hands down this was the best choice I made. Everyone plays their role in making you feel heard and even if your venting over the phone, they don’t cut you off or interrupt, they let you finish and continue about with solving any issue that may have arose. You can even chat with your provider via the patient portal, and when I say get a quick response (depending on how busy they may be at the moment) you always hear back in a timely manner and if it takes a while, it’s before the end of their work day! Great office if you’re looking for someone new or a first timer!

I had a psychiatrist for a few years that left me with a sense of dread/anxiety in relation to getting psychiatric help. From my first session with Connie, that dread/anxiety quickly disappeared as I recognized her genuine care for her patients’ wellbeing and commitment to providing quality care that is individualized to the varied needs/concerns presented. Beyond that, she seems very knowledgeable within her field and her compassion always shines bright. I have been a client of Connie Shyu for some time now and I could not say enough kind things about her to represent how much she has helped me. 10/10 will always recommend her service!

connie was really helpful, understanding, and walked me through the whole process. she was also really personable and patient. when i wasn’t sure how to answer a question, she helped me work through it without making it impossible to answer. for something that can be really difficult for someone to navigate, i couldn’t ask for a better psychiatrist. thank you connie!

From my first visit Dr. Connie has shown the deepest concern and kindness. She looks at me as a whole person to include emotionally, spiritually, and mentally.
