Addie Dublin is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist in Massachusetts who has been practicing since 2004. Addie feels that one of her strengths is being able to quickly put clients at ease and develop a rapport that allows for their story and current state of being to be heard in a space that feels safe and supportive. Addie’s experience working across levels of care allows her to recognize escalating states of crisis and provide triage and support as needed. She has experience caring for clients with a heavy load of medications in inpatient settings and with clients who are medication naive in outpatient and university health settings. With this breadth of experience, Addie has the knowledge and comfort with recognizing when it would be appropriate to delay starting medications as well as when it may make more sense to consider decreasing or eliminating medications or consulting with other medical providers to avoid excessive polypharmacy. With extensive experience in mindfulness practices, including meditation, yoga, and mindful self-compassion, Addie is able to approach a new client who may be reluctant about considering psychotropic medication with awareness of the benefits as well as the limitations of alternative treatments. Her experiences working with clients with extensive trauma histories and cluster B personality traits has helped her build an awareness of allowing her genuine care and warmth to come through while maintaining firm and fair boundaries. Addie is a lover of nature and finds her way to the woods or the water whenever she can. Over the last several years Addie has become a passionate paddle boarder and loves to go out on any body of water to paddle or do paddle board yoga. She is an avid gardener and delights in her time in the garden in the warm months and tending to her indoor gardens over the winters. She loves colors and textures and has always enjoyed making art in all forms including drawing and painting as well as dabbling in all kinds of fabric arts from quilting to rug hooking. Addie also loves playing sports and games and has been enjoying passing on her love of soccer, softball, and ultimate frisbee to her three boys.
