About Michael Tichy (He/Him)

Michael Tichy is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, who has been practicing since 2007. He graduated from The Ohio State University, completing his master’s degree after an undergraduate study in psychology and a subsequent career in social psychology research. Michael believes in personal autonomy above nearly all else and his focus on treatment is to collaborate with each patient to come up with a plan that suits them best. His areas of interest are primarily the management of anxiety and mood disorders and ADHD, as well as the impact of acute and complex trauma in the manifestation of psychiatric challenges. In his free time, Michael is a fiction writer, and is deeply interested in the power of narrative in finding meaning and healing.

Highly recommend Lifestance Health and Mike Tichy. After 22 years of many dr’s, mis-diagnoses, and medications that did not work for me; Mike Tichy was the 1st person that finally understood what I’d been trying to explain. In 2021, for the 1st time in my life, I had a correct diagnosis and was put on the correct medications - which was life changing! It felt like someone opened the shades and I could actually function like a normal adult! Until then, I’d been treated purely on symptoms but not the root cause. He is very easy to talk to and treats you like a human being trying to live your best. Michael is as down to earth yet professional as they come! He listens and clearly takes good notes because he always circles back to my issues from our previous visit even months later. He takes into consideration my thoughts on medication changes and is upfront about whether he agrees or has a different opinion. My previous psychiatrist retired and referred me to Michael and I could be happier!

I have worked with provider Mike at Lifestance for many years and I've been very happy. He is a great listener. I feel heard, and he focuses on what is important. I am going through a difficult time right now and he arranged his schedule to see me sooner and came up with an initial plan for me to try.
