I cannot put into words the experience I have had with ‘my provider’ ~ I had a doctor for many years retire a few years ago and since then I see Shakele Brown CNP. My life has slowly but surely changed and a bit dramatically, for the better. She is terribly kind and she makes it clear that her belief is that she and her patient are a team and I obviously go by her educated professional experienced opinion ~ but just one time I had a question about a small switch in a medication and not only did she understand but she agreed that it sounded like a good idea considering what I was sharing with her and she was more than willing to let me try the small change, and it ended up working out well. Shakele/Kelly Brown went above and beyond for me recently, outside of our appointments. Without too many details? There was a mixup with my medication and while it could have been my mistake? I couldn’t wrap my head around that being the case AND my insurance company had questions ‘for the pharmacy’ that led me to believe that the error was on part of the pharmacy, but regardless of that —- I always had good experiences with the staff at my drug store but this 1 single time there was a perfect storm. A fill in pharmacist and a fill in staff member. I don’t wish to go into too much detail but the experience caused me far more stress than I could have imagined. It involved my partner going to the drug store for me 4 times in 1 day, Shakele Brown having to call the pharmacy 3 times in 1 day, and ended with the ‘fill in’ pharmacist being unwilling to give me my prescription and Shakele Brown having to contact a secondary pharmacy for me so I could get my medication. This fiasco took an entire day from 11:00am until 6:30pm when S. Brown made the call to a pharmacy that was open later in the evening. One moment in the day when S. Brown was with patients and had no break she had a staff member contact me on her behalf and even that was a lovely experience. Another experience, Shakele gave me some advice re: a treatment that she thought might be helpful for me and she was right. I put off getting the details for a while and when I finally said yes, and started? it has turned out to be a possible life changer. Another experience: One unique scenario definitely worth mentioning is the fact that she is thorough and then some. I have typed so much already but one last thing ~ Shakele Brown had me get an ekg before starting a medication. Safety? what is more important than that? I personally do not know of anyone who takes my same medication who had their clinician insist on ‘heart health/safety’ tests first. After much ado? This ends with me and specialist/cardiologist, and I discovered that I have a heart defect that while not urgently serious it is important for me and my doctors to be aware of. A close loved one passed away from this heart issue not knowing they had it and I was tested long ago for it and was cleared. Fast Forward to Shakele Brown having me be checked for a medication and I find I do in fact have the genetic disorder —— and I know this because of? exactly, Shakele Brown. My appointments thus far have been virtual and I am glad because there have been too many times that I don’t think I could have stopped myself from hugging her if she was sitting in a room with me. GRATEFUL

I’ve been with Kelly for almost a year now..and I can’t even begin to tell you how happy I am with her. She actually listens and gives advice/suggestions. She didn’t throw me into one category due to my past history. And right there I knew I was going to be happy with her. She has given me a chance to continue my treatment plan and has been so supportive throughout my time with her. I’m really happy with her and I will always suggest her when anyone ask for suggestions on who they should see.

I cannot articulate the gratitude i have for Ms Brown. She has gone out of her way to help me not only maintain a balanced regiment of medication but to help me through a very traumatic difficult chapter of life. She treats me as an individual and not jist another pt. Forever grateful for this amazing human. Ten stars.

I’m so glad I spoke with Kelly yesterday. I’ve been going through some really rough times within this month in particular. She listened and offered suggestions that I’m working on. I was also happy she communicated with Han, my therapist, to help me through. I was glad she went the extra mile.
