Krista McDonald, MSN, FNP, PMHNP-BC,
About Krista McDonald (She/Her)
Krista McDonald helps teens, adults, and older adults navigate mental health challenges with compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care. As a prescriber at LifeStance Health, she provides medication management for individuals across Ohio who are seeking support for conditions such as anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder, as well as a wide range of other mental health concerns. Her approach is collaborative, focusing on helping patients achieve meaningful improvements in their emotional well-being, daily functioning, and overall quality of life.
With experience in general psychiatry serving both pediatric and adult populations, Krista works with teens, adults, and seniors facing a variety of mental health conditions. She has particular clinical interest in treating anxiety, ADHD, and mood disorders, while also supporting individuals experiencing many other psychiatric concerns. She incorporates a thoughtful, individualized treatment approach and may utilize interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based strategies, and CBT for insomnia as part of comprehensive care.
Krista is especially passionate about working with individuals who have recently been discharged from a psychiatric hospital. She understands that the transition from inpatient care back to daily life can be challenging and believes continuity of care is essential for long-term stability and recovery. She works closely with patients during this important period, providing medication management, ongoing assessment, and support to help reduce the risk of relapse and strengthen progress toward mental wellness.
She also has experience supporting diverse populations, including individuals with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and military veterans. In addition to her primary areas of expertise, she provides care for a broad range of psychiatric conditions and life transitions.
Krista earned her education from Ohio University and has been practicing since 2007. Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys sewing, quilting, and spending time with dogs. These creative and restorative activities reflect her appreciation for patience, balance, and lifelong growth.
