Specializes In:
I first obtained my Bachelor s in Psychology from Appalachian State University in 2007. I then completed my Diploma in Nursing from Watts School of Nursing in Durham, NC in 2010. While working full time in the local hospital as a registered nurse, I put myself through school to obtain my Bachelor s in Nursing from Appalachian State University in 2010. Life happened and I moved to Ohio to complete my Master s in Nursing; Family Nurse Practitioner from Ohio University while working as a nurse on a med-surge unit. My family and I moved to Houston in 2015 and I began to work as a consultant in psychiatry in much acute care, long-term, and rehab hospital facilities. A quick move to California provided the opportunity to work in a health and wellness clinic, focusing on lifestyle modifications over medications. It was with this position that I realized my love of mental health and the role it plays in one s life. I returned to grad school to complete my Post Master s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Regis College in 2019. My husband and I moved back to Houston where I picked back up my previous role as a hospital consultant in psychiatry. I have worked in the field for over 4 years focusing on anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, alcohol use, and bipolar disorder. I am dual certified with the American Nurse Credentialing Center and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
