Michelle lives, and has lived in the Shenandoah Valley area most of her life. She received her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Shepherd College, followed by her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Old Dominion University, and her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Walden University. Michelle is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner licensed to serve in Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia. She has been a registered nurse for greater than 25 years. She is committed to each individual and provides comprehensive care that includes medication management, education, and therapy using evidence-based practice for psychiatric disorders for ages 18 to 64 in an out-patient setting. Providing culturally diversified care, she believes in a strong therapeutic relationship, as well as providing a safe and nonjudgmental environment.

When finding the right medication, she thoroughly goes over all potential side effects and ensures you know to STOP taking said medication and seek medical care if any problems do occur. She knows that medication is simply a tool. Improvements need to be made in your everyday life. Michelle is quick to respond to emails and ensures your refills are sent on time. She is always ensuring you know to reach out whenever needed. Michelle truly cares for her patients and wants to see you thrive. Michelle is amazing! She listens and questions to completely understand what is going on and gives you options so you can choose what is best for you. She never hesitates to make sure you know that you can always reach out to her with anything and she will get back to you ASAP. Ms. Stanley is “no bones about it” when it comes to patient advocacy. She is a thorough therapist whose main goal is quality of care and peace of mind for the patient engaging in “dialogue” rather than lecture. Be open and honest and she will put you first! I’m glad we found each other
