His interests in mental health stem from his background growing up as a second generation Vietnamese-American in southern California. He is also passionate about the specific mental health needs in LGBTQ+ individuals. He treats many concerns such as anxiety disorders, mood disorders like depression and bipolar disorders, psychotic disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), among several others. He prioritizes care that is respectful, culturally-informed, collaborative, and tailored to each person’s goals. Dr. Tran understands how these conditions can affect relationships, work performance, daily routines, and overall well-being. Dr. Tran completed his Bachelor’s of Science at the University of California, San Diego and his medical education The University of Iowa. He completed his psychiatric residency with the University of California, Davis. Outside of work, Dr. Tran enjoys exploring foreign languages, long-distance running, baking, cake decorating and pastry arts, fashion and style, and following popular music.
