I have had three or four sessions with Dr Patricia Figgs. She is wonderful! Probably the best match for me. Firstly, she is very gentle and although, somewhat soft-spoken, she is definitely in control of the session, which I need. She picks up on things you might not be emphasizing, but she recognizes them to be "root" contributors to your personal issues. And she engages you in conversation to that end. Secondly, she is very clinical. She understands the mechanics of the brain and draws similarities of your behaviors (that you share), and explains in a clinical manner, why certain medications would be better than other medications. Thirdly, she explains what her goals are as your psychiatrist, and how she proposes to achieve them. This approach makes sense to me, as I better understand the why's and how's of our sessions, and have a more reasonable expectation of potential progress. She speaks in terms that we ,as patients, can better understand. Finally, she is not at all intimidating. She is extremely friendly and patient with her patients, and you feel reassured that you are taking the right steps towards a healthier mental health existence. She has installed a sense of trust, which I believe is paramount in a doctor/ patient relationship. I so enjoy my sessions with her and always feel much better afterwards. I couldn't be more content if I had the choice of a thousand other doctors. She's the right one for me.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Patricia Figgs for a few years now for psychiatric care, and she has been consistently professional, knowledgeable, and attentive. She is very empathetic and truly takes her time to listen. I’ve never felt rushed during an appointment. She sits with you, asks thoughtful questions, and genuinely wants your input on the treatment plan, which is something I haven’t experienced with other providers. She has never been dismissive or made me feel like she needed to move on to the next patient. Instead, she focuses on understanding how medications are affecting me and makes careful, personalized adjustments when needed. I’ve always felt heard, respected, and supported throughout my treatment. Highly recommend her if you’re looking for a thorough and compassionate psychiatrist.

I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Figgs. As a relatively new patient, through our sessions she has brought to light new insights into my psychological challenges, coupled with what she learned through communication with my previous psychiatrist (who is now retired). She has also aided in identifying potential psychologists who would provide one-on-one talk therapy, which for me, is the essential component for managing my psychological challenges. I have also learned about her approaches, and feel strongly that I am on the right path. It won't be easy, but I have new-found Hope and optimism.

Today I had my first visit with Dr. Figgs. I had been going to an excellent psychiatrist in Wilmington, DE for 14 years who just retired. He recommended that I may be compatible with Dr. Figgs. I was thrilled with my visit. Dr. Figgs had such a compassionate and insightful way about her. She is most intelligent, and educated in current trends of psychiatry. I now feel very confident with my future in the hands of Dr. Figgs. The gentleman at the reception desk is very kind, which is also important in that type of setting.

I came to Dr. Figgs after my previous doctor of many years retired. I was immediately comfortable with her professional, caring, sympathetic, understanding, creative, and any number of outstanding qualities. She takes the time to listen and respond with honest integrity. She can also make me laugh. I am very fortunate to have found such a good fit. If you are looking for someone with these qualities, you need to give her a call. You'll be very glad you did.
