Dr. Leora Borek, MD,
About Dr. Leora Borek (She/Her)
Leora Borek helps adults and older adults throughout Massachusetts navigate emotional challenges, life transitions, and mental health concerns with a thoughtful, personalized approach that integrates both psychotherapy and medication management. As a physician at LifeStance Health, she partners with patients to better understand the connection between mental and physical well-being, offering care for concerns such as anxiety, depression, and grief. Her goal is to help individuals develop effective coping strategies, improve daily functioning, and move toward a greater sense of balance and fulfillment.
Leora has a particular interest in supporting individuals facing midlife and later-life transitions. Whether a patient is adjusting to retirement, caregiving responsibilities, changes in identity, health-related challenges, or the loss of a loved one, she provides a compassionate space to process these experiences and build resilience. She recognizes that major life changes can affect emotional health in profound ways and works collaboratively with patients to promote growth, adaptation, and renewed purpose.
Her clinical approach incorporates evidence-based interventions such as mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). In addition to treating anxiety and depression, she works with individuals experiencing sleep difficulties and the psychological impact of medical conditions. Leora tailors treatment plans to each person’s unique needs and may combine therapeutic techniques with medication management when appropriate. She also provides support for a wide range of additional mental health concerns.
Leora values developing strong therapeutic relationships built on trust, respect, and curiosity. She believes that every person’s story is shaped by a unique combination of experiences, relationships, culture, and personal strengths, and she strives to provide care that reflects those individual factors.
Outside of her clinical work, Leora enjoys walking and running, spending time in nature, visiting art museums, listening to music, and exploring different cultures. She finds that learning from diverse perspectives enriches both her personal life and her work with patients.
Leora completed her medical training through ECFMG certification and is committed to providing high-quality mental health care through LifeStance Health. She serves adults and seniors across Massachusetts who are seeking support for anxiety, depression, grief, insomnia, life transitions, and other emotional health concerns.
