Dr. Frey is a general adult psychiatrist who completed his residency training in 2012. He graduated from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed his internship at Henry Ford Hospital in Warren/Detroit, MI, and his residency in psychiatry at Michigan State University. Dr. Frey is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. Prior to entering private/outpatient practice, he served as director of Michigan State University’s inpatient psychiatry service through Sparrow/St. Lawrence Hospital.

Dr. Frey treats a broad spectrum of general psychiatric disorders and has an emphasis in the treatment of post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury, particularly in military, firefighter/EMS, and law enforcement personnel. He focuses not only on the symptoms of the disorder(s) but also on a holistic treatment approach including quality of sleep, home and work environment, diet, and physical activity.

Dr. Frey retired as a Major in the US Army after 26 years of service as an enlisted Soldier and later as an officer. He has served in multiple leadership roles over the course of his military career, including squad and section leader, platoon leader, and detachment commander. His numerous awards include 2 Meritorious Service Medals, multiple Army Commendation Medals, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Flight Surgeon Badge, Parachutist Badge, and Expert Field Medic Badge.
