About Dr. James Lee (He/Him)

James Lee, MD, helps children, adolescents, teens, adults, and older adults across North Carolina navigate mental health challenges through thoughtful, evidence-informed medication management. As a prescriber with LifeStance Health, Dr. Lee works collaboratively with patients and families to better understand symptoms, improve daily functioning, and support long-term emotional wellness. His clinical experience includes treating conditions such as ADHD, depression, and bipolar disorder, while also providing care for a wide range of additional psychiatric concerns. Dr. Lee has a particular interest in the diagnosis and treatment of childhood behavioral issues, psychiatric genetics, and ADHD. He recognizes that mental health conditions are influenced by a combination of biological, psychological, and environmental factors, and he uses this understanding to help develop personalized treatment plans. Whether working with a young child experiencing behavioral challenges, a teen struggling with attention and focus, or an adult seeking answers about inherited mental health conditions, Dr. Lee emphasizes individualized care that reflects each patient’s unique needs and goals. In addition to his areas of special interest, Dr. Lee provides medication management for a variety of conditions, including depression, bipolar disorder, sleep disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), psychosis and schizophrenia, eating disorders, and other mental health concerns. He values open communication and strives to create a supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in treatment decisions. Outside of his professional work, Dr. Lee enjoys gardening and beekeeping.
