Gabriela Alvim de Paula, MD,
About Gabriela Alvim de Paula (She/Her)
Gabriela Alvim de Paula helps adults and older adults throughout New Jersey find stability, relief, and renewed confidence in managing mental health concerns through thoughtful, patient-centered psychiatric care. As a prescriber at LifeStance Health, she provides medication management tailored to each individual’s needs, taking time to understand the whole person rather than focusing solely on symptoms. Gabriela works with patients experiencing conditions such as anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder, while also treating a wide range of additional mental health concerns. One area of particular passion for Gabriela is supporting individuals who have been recently discharged from a psychiatric hospital. She understands that the transition from inpatient care back to daily life can be overwhelming and often requires ongoing clinical support, careful medication management, and a personalized treatment plan. Her goal is to help patients maintain progress, reduce the risk of relapse, and build a strong foundation for long-term recovery and wellness. Gabriela takes a collaborative approach to treatment, helping patients navigate complex emotional and psychiatric challenges while empowering them to play an active role in their care. She has experience working with members of the LGBTQ+ community, military veterans, and first responders, recognizing the unique stressors and life experiences that can influence mental health. In addition to her primary areas of expertise, she offers support for a variety of other conditions and life transitions that may affect emotional well-being. She earned her medical education through the New York Institute of Technology and Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey – Biomedical & Health Sciences. Since beginning her practice in 2022, Gabriela has remained committed to delivering evidence-based psychiatric care with compassion, respect, and clinical excellence. Outside of work, Gabriela enjoys reading, traveling, and running. These interests reflect her appreciation for lifelong learning, exploration, and maintaining a healthy balance in life.
