Tracey Cawthorn helps adults and seniors find stability, clarity, and relief from complex mental health concerns through personalized psychiatric care. Serving patients across Texas, she offers a balanced approach that integrates psychiatric medication management with psychotherapy to support lasting improvement in emotional health, relationships, and daily functioning. At LifeStance Health, Tracey provides comprehensive treatment for adults and seniors managing conditions such as anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder, while also addressing co-occurring challenges that can affect overall well-being. Her work includes medication management alongside individual therapy, with additional services such as couples and family therapy when clinically appropriate. She has experience supporting specialized populations, including military and veteran patients and individuals with head injuries, and offers additional expertise across a broad range of psychiatric conditions. Tracey is especially committed to treating alcohol and drug use issues within the context of mental health care. She understands how substance use can intersect with mood disorders, trauma, and stress-related conditions, and she uses medication-assisted treatment combined with therapeutic support to promote recovery, reduce relapse risk, and improve quality of life. Her approach emphasizes safety, collaboration, and respect for each patient’s goals. When psychotherapy is part of care, Tracey may incorporate evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness-based techniques, and couples or marital counseling, while offering additional therapeutic options as needed. Her clinical style is thoughtful, structured, and grounded in both medical and psychological understanding. Outside of clinical practice, Tracey enjoys music, football, and spending time fishing, activities that reflect her appreciation for balance and connection beyond work.

See what our patients are saying about Tracey Cawthorn

My experience with Dr. Tracey Cawthorn (from the initial phone call seeking services) to the actual treatment and care I have been receiving from Dr. Cawthorn has exceeded any and all healthcare expectations I have ever had. As a healthcare worker myself, I know firsthand how difficult it is to provide quality, compassionate, and individualized care for people within our healthcare system. After I retired from the Army, I was bounced around from Psychiatrists to Psychiatrists before finding her. I did some research beforehand, then took the leap and scheduled my first appointment. I have been a patient of Dr. Cawthorn for almost 2 years now, she has already helped me tremendously with her kindness, thoroughness, and non-judgmental approach to treatment. It is clear that she sees her patients as a "whole person". She is extremely knowledgeable, validates you as a human being. Definitely give their office a call if you are seeking services and don't know where to start - Start here.

It's a great relief to finally find a doctor who is not only knowledgeable but also easy to talk to, ensuring that my diagnosis is accurate and the medications are appropriate for what's needed. Dr. TC is not only attentive and provides a wealth of knowledge, but she also allows you to steer the direction of what works best for you, your body, and your lifestyle, rather than simply pushing medications. If you're looking for a doctor who is personable, listens with compassion, and advises with respect, Dr. TC is the doctor you're seeking.

Dr. Cawthorn is a deeply compassionate and caring physician that has helped me to turn my life around with just a few short visits. I felt like she really listened to me, addressed my concerns, and then helped me to implement a plan that has reversed suicidal ideation and a long-standing problem with anxiety and depression over a relatively short time period (3-6 months). She is a great psychiatrist and I am so grateful to have met her.

I had an amazing experience with Doctor Cawthorn. I was a little uneasy about seeing a psychiatrist before I went in and right away she made me feel completely at ease and I was able to be myself. She listened wholeheartedly as I spoke and offered suggestions and explained them throughly about how I should proceed forward!! She was friendly and completely professional!! I look forward to my next appointment with Doctor Cawthorn!

Dr. Cawthorn is the most wonderful psychiatrist that I have ever seen. She listens to needs with full attention and compassion. She has gone through her own trials with life, and I have never faced any judgment from her. She has immense emotional intelligence and continues to retain a broad knowledge of medicine. My life has changed after meeting her. I hope she continues to help others for many years to come.
