Meenal Jog, PhD, Psychologist in San Jose, California

Meenal Jog is a psychologist, who has been practicing since 2020. She graduated from Lehigh University with a PhD in Counseling Psychology. Meenal believes in an integrative approach to therapy that borrows from relational psychodynamic therapy, attachment theory, multicultural theories, as well as mindfulness, acceptance and compassion based approaches. She adopts a relational stance in therapy and uses insight-oriented techniques and interpersonal feedback to help clients develop awareness of their patterns of interpreting and reacting to the world which may be contributing to their distress. She utilizes mindfulness and compassion based strategies to help clients step out of their automatic ways of being, and develop a stance towards their internal experience that is curious, compassionate and non-judgmental. She also seeks to understand how clients’ unique lived experiences and positions of power can shape how they navigate the world and understand themselves and others. Her main areas of focus include depression, anxiety, self-esteem, trauma and relational concerns. In her spare time, Meenal enjoys hiking, camping, cooking and spending time with friends and family.
