About James Graham (He/Him)
James Graham helps adults develop effective strategies for overcoming emotional challenges, building resilience, and improving their overall quality of life. As a Licensed Psychologist with LifeStance Health, he provides individual therapy for adults throughout Massachusetts, offering evidence-based mental health care tailored to each person’s goals and experiences. James works with individuals facing anxiety, depression, and trauma-related concerns, while also supporting a wide range of additional mental health and life challenges.
James has a particular passion for helping individuals who are navigating the effects of PTSD and trauma. He incorporates specialized approaches, including Prolonged Exposure and Written Exposure Therapy, to help clients process difficult experiences, reduce avoidance, and regain a sense of control and confidence. His goal is to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel supported as they move toward healing and long-term recovery.
Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Therapy, and Mindfulness-based techniques, James helps clients identify unhelpful patterns, develop practical coping skills, and make meaningful changes in their lives. He has experience working with first responders and military veterans, recognizing the unique stressors and experiences these populations may face. In addition to his core areas of focus, he provides support for grief, pain management, men’s issues, and other behavioral health concerns.
James believes that successful therapy is built on collaboration, trust, and respect. He works closely with each client to understand their individual story, strengths, and challenges, creating a personalized treatment approach that aligns with their values and objectives. His therapeutic style is thoughtful, goal-oriented, and grounded in clinical expertise.
Outside of his professional work, James enjoys reading, hiking, swimming, kayaking, amateur woodworking, gaming, and discovering unique speakeasies. These interests reflect his appreciation for lifelong learning, creativity, and balance, qualities that also inform his work as a therapist.
James completed his education at Ithaca College, the University of New Hampshire, and William James College. He is dedicated to providing high-quality mental health services for adults across Massachusetts seeking support for anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, grief, and related concerns.
