Dr. Ferdinand has varied clinical experiences, including working with children, adolescents, and adults presenting with anger management difficulties, depression, anxiety, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, bereavement challenges, complex trauma histories, and other difficulties. In addition, Dr. Ferdinand has experience working with families, and providing therapy to adults with chronic medical challenges. Dr. Ferdinand uses primarily cognitive-behavioral therapy in her interventions with clients. She has experience working with clients from diverse ethnic, racial, and socio-economic backgrounds, and values working collaboratively with clients to help them achieve their treatment goals. In addition, Dr. Ferdinand has a range of psychological assessment experience, and incorporates psychological testing into her work with clients, when indicated. Dorothie Ferdinand, Psy.D. is a licensed psychologist and a Certified Health Service Provider. Dr. Ferdinand earned a doctorate in clinical psychology from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology. Prior to her doctoral education, Dr. Ferdinand earned a master’s in psychology from Boston University, and a bachelor’s in clinical psychology from Tufts University. Dr. Ferdinand completed her post-doctoral training at Wediko Children’s Services, where she provided psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and families. Dr. Ferdinand completed pre-doctoral internships at several sites including, the Community Therapeutic Day School, Lexington High School, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Counseling Center, and the Department of Public Health at Tewksbury Hospital.
