I’m someone who is brutally honest, so if I had anything negative to say about her, I would say it here. I really don’t have anything negative though. She possesses the three most important qualities that I believe every great therapist should have: 1. Above-average intelligence. She has more than enough intelligence to provide quality advice, input, and the capability to bring a new perspective to people of all levels of intelligence. 2. She has proper control over her emotions. If I said something that she disagreed with, she responded calmly and using fair logic/reason. She is mature and respectful. I feel like too many people these days respond with clouded emotion to disagreements which is why I felt it was important to bring this up. 3. Proper judgement. This kind of goes along with #2, but it’s worth mentioning. It helps to have control over your emotions, as it helps with judgement. Out of our many conversations, I believe she made the right decision every time when she chose to push back against something that I said, and that she made the right decision on the proper amount of pushback in each instance. It wasn’t too little, and it wasn’t too much. She’s a very reasonable person. She made the right choices in when to support me and when to tell me to maybe rethink things. I am very thankful for her. It always felt like I was talking to a friend when I was talking to her, but a friend who actually cared, not one who would just tell you what you wanted to hear. A real friend. A real therapist.
