My PASSION is to guide you in self-care for a fulfilling life. CBT, Cognitive behavior therapy, helps you to recognize problematic thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors and then replace them with more realistic and healthy ones. I collaborate with you, focusing on your goals, to treat anxiety, depression and PTSD. Therapy includes DBT mindfulness skills to guide you to listen to your body and your surroundings in resonance with your foundational self. CBT-I addresses insomnia by changing behaviors and thoughts that disrupt sleep, using techniques like sleep restriction, stimulus control (using the bed only for sleep), and cognitive restructuring to replace negative thoughts about sleep with more positive ones. It aims to retrain your mind and body to fall asleep and stay asleep, improving sleep efficiency and quality over time by addressing the underlying causes of insomnia rather than just the symptoms. I have weekly consultation with masters at the Stanford University Sleep and Insomnia Program (SHIP) to support me with your sleep needs. For those parents who have concerns for their child or teen who has experienced PTSD, TF-CBT is used; it is an evidence-based treatment model designed to help children, adolescents, and their parents or caregivers recover from the effects of trauma. It integrates principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with specific trauma-focused strategies, teaching skills to manage trauma-related difficulties, process upsetting beliefs, and cope with everyday stressors. For those parents who have young children, 2-7, with disruptive behavior and tantrums, we do evidence-based PCIT, Parent Child interaction therapy, PCIT, is designed to improve the parent-child relationship by coaching caregivers to strengthen their parent-child relationship, reduce disruptive behaviors, improve parenting skills and decrease parental stress. I also practice Christian based therapy.
