Che LeSeur, MSW, LCSW
Che LeSeur is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and licensed since 1999. Che is of mixed background, African-American and West Indian descent. Che earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1990. She later earned her Master of Social Work degree in 1994 from San Diego State University. She later earned her Master of Psychology degree in 2006 from Alliant International University, CSPP with a clinical psychology and forensic psychology emphasis.
In the beginning of her career, Che served as Protective Services Worker with Child Welfare Services (CPS) for nine years with the County of San Diego, Health and Human Services Agency. During that time of her career, Che gained a vast amount of professional experience working in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems, as a per diem clinician treating the severely mentally ill population, and as a clinical therapist in a group practice.
Currently, Che balances her career working as a clinician at LifeStance, while serving as a licensed mental health clinician in a correctional setting, and working a small percentage of her time as a clinician conducting groups with the adult chronically mentally ill in psychiatric outpatient program.
Che possesses an array of strengths include working with individuals with backgrounds, issues and symptoms that include but not limited to: trauma history (e.g, PTSD), anxiety disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, adjustment disorders, inattention (e.g., ADHD/ADD), and substance use disorders. She has a certification in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Her therapeutic approaches include: cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT, trauma-focused, solution-focused, psychodynamic, humanistic, and systemic approaches. Che hopes to continue to gain certification in other specialities in the future.
In her spare time, Che enjoys travelling, going to live music venues, cooking, spending time in nature, camping, being with animals and marine life, and sports (esp., watching and attending football games). Che would like to continue to travel the world and continue to practice French and become fluent in the language.
