Dr. Helena Dow is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a 2006 graduate of California School of Professional Psychology CSPP , where she obtained a doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Dr. Dow is additionally a graduate of San Diego State University, where she obtained a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2000 and a Master of Arts equivalent degree in Multicultural Educational counseling, CBB program, in 2017. Dr. Dow is also certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy EFT with an emphasis on couples therapy, as well as in chemical dependency. Dr. Dow fosters a respectful, caring, and supportive therapeutic environment in her work that endeavors to treat the whole self. Dr. Dow provides individual, couple, and family therapy to children and adults of various age groups and backgrounds using a systems approach, while also borrowing from other therapeutic modalities.

She works collaboratively with her clients to develop customized and impactful treatment plans and modalities tailored to fulfil their unique needs. Dr. Dow s clinical experience includes treatment of depression and other mood related disorders, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, eating disorders, relationship and family conflicts to include blended family dynamics, traumas, crisis interventions, immigrant issues, attention issues, spirituality, conflict resolution and problem solving. Dr. Dow serves as an associate faculty member at various local colleges, provides clinical supervision to clinicians in training, and has authored a number of academic publications. She is a native of Albania where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in English Language and Literature and speaks fluent Albanian.
