Destiny James is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, who has been practicing since 2009. She graduated from California State University, Fresno with a Master’s of Science degree in Counseling with distinction, specializing in Marriage and Family therapy. Destiny believes therapy is collaborative, working with you to identify and process the current roadblocks in your life. She believes in empowering you to discover and connect with the best version of yourself. She believes you are the expert in your life, joining on your journey to identify and use necessary tools to improve your life and relationships. Her main areas of focus are substance use, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress and couples’ issues. She uses Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, Dialectical behavior therapy, Solution-Focused therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness techniques. She has completed Level 1 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and uses this in couples’ work. In her spare time, Destiny enjoys hiking, yoga, walks on the beach, concerts, traveling, spending time with friends and family including her three blind cats.
