Adolescence is defined as the developmental transition to adulthood that includes rapid changes in the brain and body at different rates. It is a time for healthy exploration of identity and learning independence which can be challenging and stressful. Kayeley is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. With a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s in Counseling, Kayeley received her education in the state of Montana. Why Montana? Well, she received an amazing scholarship to play collegiate softball that she could not pass up. After 7 years, she had enough of the snow and freezing cold weather; Kayeley moved back home to California in 2018 to continue her career and be closer to family. Kayeley has 9+ years of clinical experience working with the adolescent population as well as the transitional aged youth (18-24) of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Kayeley specializes in treating individuals who struggle with depression, suicidal thoughts, self-harm behavior, anxiety, substance use, PTSD, psychosis, and LGBTQ+ issues. Kayeley is qualified in providing crisis stabilization, focusing on trauma, utilizing the Illness Management and Recovery treatment model while supporting clients in learning skills for reducing relapses, dealing with stress, and coping with various symptoms. Using a person-centered focus, Kayeley strives in creating individualized goals, allowing the client to recover in a way that is the best fit for them emotionally, socially, and cognitively while gaining a better understanding and awareness of oneself.
