“Who says exactly what they’re thinking? What kind of game is that?” – Kelly Kapoor

Let’s be honest—most of us weren’t exactly handed a manual in how to talk about our feelings. Especially if you’ve spent years in high-stress environments, survival mode, or being the one everyone else leans on, opening up can feel… well, weird. That’s where I come in.

I’m a therapist based in Northern Colorado—a mom of two, lover of dirt bikes, bookworm, and firm believer that healing doesn’t have to be pretty to be real. I specialize in working with first responders, military personnel, people in recovery, and anyone navigating trauma, transition, or the quiet burnout that sneaks up on you while you’re busy trying to hold everything together.

In my work, I honor that healing doesn’t always look polished. My approach? Grounded, direct, and zero percent interested in pretending everything’s fine if it’s not. Therapy with me is more real talk, less performative wellness. You don’t need to say the “right” thing—you just need a space that feels safe enough to say the TRUE thing. And yes, sometimes the work is awkward, gritty, or even a little funny. That’s normal. Healing’s weird like that.

So while Kelly Kapoor might joke about honesty being a game, around here it’s the opposite:

No games. No pretense. Just one honest conversation at a time – with room for sarcasm, if that’s your native language.
