Michaela Tratos is a licensed professional counselor and licensed addiction counselor helping individuals across Colorado navigate life’s challenges with compassion, evidence-based care, and a deep commitment to healing.

Serving adolescents, adults, and seniors, she provides individual therapy designed to empower clients in managing anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, life transitions, and parenting support. Michaela believes that meaningful change begins with understanding each person’s unique story, and she tailors her approach to meet clients where they are; whether they’re exploring new paths in young adulthood, coping with the complexities of midlife, or adjusting to later life transitions. Drawing from her extensive background in substance abuse and trauma therapy, Michaela is passionate about supporting clients work through trauma, substance use issues, and other mental health concerns to seek recovery, balance, and renewed purpose. She also specializes in assisting first responders, counselors, and other helping professionals; those who give so much of themselves to others; to process stress, grief, and burnout while rediscovering their own resilience and well-being. Her therapeutic work is guided with a trauma informed approach and draws from Gestalt principals, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and attachment based practices. These methods allow Michaela to help clients strengthen emotional regulation, reduce unhelpful thought patterns, and cultivate self-compassion providing a safe, inclusive environment for individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those within the LGBTQ+ and adoption/foster care communities. Beyond her clinical work, Michaela enjoys reading, cooking, and chilling with her pets; activities that reflect her appreciation for creativity, connection, and lifelong learning. She brings this same sense of curiosity and warmth to her sessions, helping clients foster personal growth and emotional wellness in a supportive, collaborative setting.
