Alvin Penix Jr helps teens, adults, and older adults throughout Florida build practical skills to overcome emotional challenges, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change in their lives. As a therapist at LifeStance Health, he provides individual therapy and couples therapy with a compassionate, collaborative approach that meets clients where they are. He frequently works with concerns such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD/trauma while also offering support for a range of additional mental health and life stressors. A particular area of passion for Alvin is helping individuals who have been recently discharged from a psychiatric hospital. He recognizes that returning to daily responsibilities after a hospitalization can feel overwhelming, and he is committed to helping clients establish stability, maintain progress, and navigate the transition with confidence. Through consistent therapeutic support, he works alongside clients to build resilience, develop healthy coping strategies, and move toward sustainable emotional wellness. Alvin believes that effective therapy is both supportive and goal-oriented. He integrates evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and EMDR to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In addition to treating anxiety, depression, and trauma-related concerns, he provides care for couples and individuals facing other emotional, relational, and behavioral challenges. He also has experience serving military veterans and offers additional support tailored to their unique experiences and concerns. Since beginning his clinical practice in 2021, Alvin has been dedicated to creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel respected, understood, and empowered. He earned degrees from the University of North Florida and the University of Central Florida, building a strong foundation for helping people navigate complex mental health concerns and life transitions. Outside of his professional work, Alvin enjoys gaming, exploring movies and television, cooking, and traveling. These interests reflect his appreciation for creativity, connection, and lifelong learning, values that also influence his therapeutic approach. For individuals across Florida seeking therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, or support following a psychiatric hospitalization, Alvin Penix Jr offers thoughtful, evidence-based care focused on lasting growth and recovery.
