Katara Wilson, LPC

Katara Wilson, LPC at LifeStance Health, offers compassionate and evidence-based mental health support to children, teens, adults, and seniors across Georgia. She is dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges by creating a safe and affirming space where they can build on their strengths and develop practical coping skills. Katara specializes in individual, family, and group therapy and supports clients through a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns using tailored approaches that meet the needs of each unique stage of life. Katara is especially passionate about working with children and adolescents. She integrates play therapy and art therapy to help young clients express themselves in developmentally appropriate ways, fostering emotional resilience and healthy communication. She also has extensive experience in supporting youth with ADHD, childhood behavior issues, school avoidance, and those navigating the foster care and adoption system. Her ability to connect with younger clients and their families allows for impactful, long-lasting change. In addition to her work with youth, Katara provides support for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and trauma, including PTSD. She utilizes interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy to promote emotional regulation, self-awareness, and stronger relationships. Katara also offers psychological testing and collaborates with families, schools, and other providers to create holistic treatment plans. She has experience supporting LGBTQ+ individuals, clients with developmental disabilities, and military families. Outside of her clinical work, Katara enjoys spending time with family and friends, refurbishing furniture, and making clothing and hair bows.

My experience with katara was amazing, she was the human version of a warm hug. She genuinely wants to help and does not rush to finish the sessions. I looked forward for our sessions and she helped me tremendously with a very difficult time,it broke my heart to leave her when my insurance ended.
