Sarah enjoys working with clients in the therapeutic process in a variety of areas including substance abuse, emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, relational dynamics and challenges, and navigating life transitions. She has experience working in a dual-diagnosis substance abuse treatment setting with adults and families going through the recovery process. Sarah’s approach in therapy focuses on meeting clients where they are and working to be supportive in the process of confronting challenges and building autonomy. Whether you are questioning your relationship with substances or wanting to use therapy as a tool to deepen your recovery, Sarah’s aim is to help you to explore areas of continued growth. Sarah primarily utilizes skill sets from Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Motivational Interviewing to help clients to build coping skills for daily life as well as focusing on motivation for change based in each individuals’ values. Sarah also utilizes Mindfulness-based CBT and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) in working with anxiety and OCD for symptom reduction. She approaches therapy through the lens of Attachment Theory and it is with this understanding that Sarah believes in the importance of forming a connection in therapy based on mutual trust and respect as the foundation of the therapeutic process and would love to be a part of your journey.
