Specializes In:
Courtney Greene, LPC Courtney Greene is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and a Certified Anger Management Specialists Level II in Georgia who has been practicing since 2017. She is a graduate of the Masters of Science program for Clinical Mental Health at Mercer University in Atlanta, GA. For her undergraduate degree, she received her BA in Psychology and a minor in Sociology from Georgia State University. Courtney believes that everyone has times of difficulty in their lives. During this time there can be some uncertainty, unsettling feelings, and a sense of being lost in what direction to go. These feelings tend to weigh you down. Often times these make you feel somewhat stuck in a loop of emotions with little to no sense of direction.
One of Courtney’s goals in therapy is to help you break through the struggles of life and encourage you to overcome these feelings and move towards the life you have imagined for yourself. A life that can provide and support your overall wellness. Courtney works from a person-centered perspective and feels as though the therapist and client relationship is essential to getting you to a healthy therapeutic level of peace. She’d like to give you the chance to truly voice your thoughts, emotions, relationships dilemmas, triumphs, and career and or school choices that may be having an impact on your life. She utilizes a multitude of theories to help you to develop techniques that can be used to make you your best self.
Courtney likes to practice the reality therapy perspective. It’s a client-centered form of cognitive behavioral psychotherapy that focuses on improvement of your present circumstances. Reality therapy teaches that although not being able to have control of everything does not mean we cannot control how we think and behave. One of the key components of reality therapy is to help take back control and in result improve daily life by learning to make more beneficial decisions.
In her free time, Courtney enjoys everything food! She loves to cook and try new foods and restaurants. Watching Food Network and HGTV is second nature! She also loves having quality times with her family and friends, especially on game nights!
