Marysue Mastey, LCPC, helps adults and older adults throughout Illinois navigate emotional challenges, life transitions, and mental health concerns with compassion, insight, and decades of clinical experience. As a therapist at LifeStance Health, she provides individual and group therapy for individuals seeking support with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and a range of other concerns. Since beginning her practice in 1989, Marysue has been dedicated to creating a thoughtful, collaborative therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to make meaningful changes. A significant focus of Marysue’s work is helping individuals manage ADHD, anxiety, and depression. She understands how these conditions can affect relationships, work performance, self-esteem, and overall well-being. Her approach is tailored to each person’s unique experiences and goals, helping clients develop practical skills, strengthen resilience, and build greater confidence in their daily lives. She also supports individuals facing grief, midlife and later-life transitions, and other emotional or psychological challenges. Marysue utilizes evidence-based treatment approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based interventions. She works with adults across all stages of adulthood, including young adults, midlife adults, and seniors. In addition, she has experience supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community, individuals with autism spectrum disorders, and those living with developmental disabilities, while also offering care for a broad range of additional mental health concerns. Her therapeutic style is grounded in curiosity, respect, and a belief that growth is possible at every stage of life. Marysue partners with clients to better understand patterns that may be contributing to distress while developing strategies that support lasting emotional wellness and improved quality of life. Outside of her clinical work, Marysue enjoys reading mysteries and classic literature, playing piano and guitar, listening to classical music and folk rock records, visiting museums, and traveling both within and outside the United States. She especially enjoys spending time in Chicago’s parks and along the lakefront.
