About Marysue Mastey (She/Her)
Marysue Mastey, LCPC, helps adults and older adults in Illinois navigate challenges, life transitions, and mental health concerns with compassion, insight, and decades of clinical experience. For 35 years, Marysue has been dedicated to creating a thoughtful, collaborative therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to make meaningful changes. Marysue helps individuals manage depression, anxiety and other mental health conditions. She understands how these conditions can affect relationships, work performance, self-esteem and overall well-being. Her approach is tailored to each person’s unique experiences and goals, helping clients develop practical skills, strengthen resilience, and build greater confidence in their daily lives. She supports individuals facing grief, young adult, mid-life, and later-life transitions and emotional and psychological challenges based on stress and trauma, past and present. Marysue utilizes evidence-based treatment approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy(DBT), Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness-Based interventions. She has experience supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community, individuals with brain injuries, and those living with medical concerns and disabilities. Her therapeutic style is grounded in respect, open questioning, and a belief that growth and change are possible at every stage of life. Marysue partners with clients to better understand patterns that may be contributing to distress while developing strategies that support lasting emotional wellness and improved quality of life. Outside of her clinical work Marysue enjoys reading mysteries and classic literature, playing piano and guitar, visiting museums, and traveling. She especially enjoys Chicago!
