Serena Diaz, MA, LCSW,
About Serena Diaz (She/Her)
Serena Diaz helps adolescents, teens, and adults across Illinois navigate emotional challenges, relationship concerns, and life stressors with compassionate, evidence-based therapy. At LifeStance Health, she provides individual, couples, and family therapy, partnering with clients to better understand their experiences, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. Her therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and focused on helping clients feel supported while working toward their personal goals. Serena has particular expertise in helping individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and PTSD/trauma. She understands that these concerns can affect every aspect of life, from relationships and work to self-esteem and overall well-being. By creating a safe and nonjudgmental space, she helps clients process difficult experiences, build resilience, and develop practical tools for managing symptoms and improving daily functioning. In addition to supporting clients with anxiety, depression, and trauma-related concerns, Serena works with adolescents, teens, and adults facing ADHD, relationship challenges, childhood behavior concerns, and other mental health conditions. She also helps couples and families improve communication, navigate conflict, and strengthen their connections. Her treatment approach incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and couples counseling techniques, while drawing from additional therapeutic interventions to meet the unique needs of each client. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Serena believes that effective therapy should honor each person’s strengths while addressing the barriers that may be preventing growth. She strives to create a therapeutic relationship built on trust, curiosity, and genuine understanding, empowering clients to move forward with greater confidence and self-awareness. Serena earned degrees from the University of Chicago and the University of Iowa and completed additional studies at William Rainey Harper College. Her educational background complements her commitment to delivering thoughtful, individualized mental health care. Outside of her clinical work, Serena enjoys baking, spending time with her cat, exploring social media trends, playing Fortnite, connecting with family, and taking on creative DIY projects. She is passionate about finding balance between creativity, connection, and personal growth, interests that further enrich her work with clients.
