Tatyana Smith, LCSW, helps teens, adults, and older adults throughout Illinois navigate emotional challenges, life transitions, and mental health concerns with compassionate, individualized therapy. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at LifeStance Health, she partners with clients to identify their strengths, develop effective coping strategies, and create meaningful change. Tatyana provides individual therapy for concerns such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD/trauma, while also supporting clients managing a wide range of additional emotional and behavioral health needs. Tatyana is particularly passionate about working with individuals who have recently been discharged from a psychiatric hospital and those participating in court-ordered treatment. She understands that these situations often come with unique pressures, uncertainty, and significant life adjustments. Her goal is to provide a supportive therapeutic environment where clients can build stability, strengthen insight, and develop practical tools for long-term success. She approaches these experiences with empathy and respect, helping individuals move forward with confidence and a renewed sense of purpose. Her therapeutic approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and tailored to each client’s needs. Tatyana incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients better understand patterns of thought and behavior while building emotional resilience. She has experience supporting individuals with ADHD, grief, and challenges related to gender identity, as well as many other mental health concerns. Additionally, she works with members of the LGBTQ+ community and individuals with autism spectrum disorders, creating an affirming space where clients feel understood and valued. Tatyana believes therapy should be both practical and empowering. She works alongside clients to improve emotional wellness, navigate difficult transitions, strengthen relationships, and achieve personal goals. Her focus is on helping clients develop lasting skills that can support healthier functioning in everyday life. She earned her education from Trinity Christian College and the University of Illinois Chicago, where she developed a strong foundation in evidence-based behavioral health care and client-centered treatment. Outside of her clinical work, Tatyana enjoys reading for leisure, hiking, and practicing yoga. These interests help her maintain balance and reflect her appreciation for lifelong learning, mindfulness, and overall well-being.
