Melanie Gibbs, MSW, LCSW,
About Melanie Gibbs (She/Her)
Melanie Gibbs, LCSW, brings over two decades of experience in providing compassionate care to individuals, couples, and families across Indiana. She specializes in helping people navigate the complex emotions and challenges of anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief. Melanie works with clients at various stages of life, from young adults to seniors, using a holistic and collaborative approach. She is deeply committed to supporting her clients as they work through life’s transitions and guiding them on their path toward growth and healing. One of Melanie’s primary focuses is supporting those who have experienced trauma, including PTSD, through both verbal and non-verbal modalities. Her use of therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and EMDR provides clients with effective tools to manage and overcome emotional pain. Additionally, she has a deep understanding of psychosis, schizophrenia, and addiction, offering specialized care for those dealing with these complex mental health challenges. Her experience also extends to helping individuals and families address issues such as bipolar disorder, midlife transitions, and medical conditions impacting mental health. Melanie’s passion for mental health care is particularly evident in her work with military veterans, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those on the autism spectrum. She believes in the power of therapy to transform lives and strives to create a non-judgmental, supportive environment for all of her clients. Whether through individual therapy, couples counseling, or group therapy, Melanie partners with her clients to explore their beliefs, challenges, and strengths in a safe space. Outside of her professional life, Melanie enjoys living in the country, where she tends to her garden, pets, and family. She loves spending time outdoors, hiking, and traveling to new destinations. Her greatest joy is sharing life’s simple pleasures with her kids and grandkids, whether playing games, attending concerts, or exploring nature.
