Elise Walter, LMHC, MS.Ed,
About Elise Walter (She/Her)
Elise Walter is dedicated to helping teens, adults, and older adults navigate life’s challenges with compassion, insight, and evidence-based care. Serving clients throughout Indiana through LifeStance Health, she provides individual therapy tailored to each person’s unique experiences and goals. Elise works with individuals facing concerns such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD/trauma, while also offering support for a range of additional mental health and life adjustment needs.
Elise believes that meaningful therapy begins with understanding the whole person. She creates a supportive, collaborative environment where clients can explore difficult emotions, build resilience, and develop practical skills for lasting growth. Drawing from approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and EMDR, she helps clients move toward greater emotional well-being while remaining flexible to each individual’s needs. She also offers additional therapeutic interventions to support a wide variety of concerns.
With a special interest in helping individuals manage the emotional impact of medical conditions, chronic health concerns, and pain-related challenges, Elise understands how physical health and mental health are deeply connected. She is passionate about supporting clients as they cope with the stress, uncertainty, and life changes that can accompany health issues, helping them strengthen coping strategies and improve overall quality of life.
Elise earned her education from Indiana University South Bend and Baker College. Her clinical approach is grounded in empathy, curiosity, and respect for each client’s personal story. She values creating a space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered as they work toward meaningful change.
Outside of her clinical work, Elise enjoys all forms of media, including movies, television, music, books, video games, and art. She appreciates how creative expression connects people and reflects the human experience. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and pets and is passionate about supporting local wildlife rehabilitation and preservation efforts.
