Ms. Mary Tanona, LICSW,
About Ms. Mary Tanona (She/Her)
Mary Tanona helps children, adolescents, teens, and adults build practical skills to manage life’s challenges, strengthen relationships, and improve emotional well-being. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with LifeStance Health, she provides compassionate, evidence-based therapy for individuals and families across Massachusetts. Mary works with clients experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other mental health challenges, creating a supportive space where they can feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes.
Mary is especially passionate about helping people navigate ADHD, anxiety, and depression. She understands how these concerns can affect school performance, work responsibilities, relationships, self-esteem, and daily functioning. Her approach focuses on identifying strengths, developing effective coping strategies, and helping clients gain greater confidence and resilience as they work toward their personal goals. She believes that lasting progress happens when treatment is tailored to each individual’s unique experiences, strengths, and needs.
In her practice, Mary works with children, adolescents, teens, and adults through individual, couples, family, and group therapy services. She incorporates evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while also offering additional therapeutic approaches when clinically appropriate. Mary has experience supporting clients facing a broad range of concerns, including trauma, relationship difficulties, behavioral challenges, grief, life transitions, and other emotional and mental health needs.
Mary values collaboration and believes therapy is most effective when clients feel actively involved in the treatment process. She strives to create a welcoming environment where people can explore challenges, build on their strengths, and develop practical tools to improve their quality of life both now and in the future.
Outside of her clinical work, Mary enjoys baking, playing board games, outdoor adventures, DIY home projects, and spending time with family. She is passionate about social connection, lifelong learning, personal growth, and supporting the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of those around her. As a provider at LifeStance Health, Mary is proud to serve communities throughout Massachusetts and help clients take meaningful steps toward healthier, more fulfilling lives.
