Maria Kaya, MSW, LCSW,
About Maria Kaya (She/Her)
Maria Kaya helps adults and older adults throughout Massachusetts navigate emotional challenges, relationship concerns, and life transitions with compassion, curiosity, and evidence-based care. As a Licensed Certified Social Worker at LifeStance Health, she creates a supportive therapeutic environment where clients can feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes. Maria works with individuals, couples, and groups, helping people address concerns such as anxiety, depression, and ADHD while building practical skills for improved well-being and resilience.
Maria is especially passionate about supporting individuals facing later life transitions, and midlife transitions. She understands that major life changes, shifting identities, and substance use concerns can affect every aspect of a person’s life. Her approach focuses on helping clients gain insight, strengthen coping strategies, and move toward healthier patterns that align with their values and goals. She believes lasting growth is possible when treatment combines clinical expertise with genuine human connection.
Drawing from approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Maria tailors treatment to each client’s unique circumstances. She also offers additional therapeutic interventions to meet a wide range of needs. Whether someone is working through grief, relationship difficulties, trauma-related concerns, or challenges related to health and aging, Maria collaborates with clients to develop individualized treatment plans that support meaningful progress.
Before entering clinical practice, Maria pursued studies at Simmons University, Bunker Hill Community College, and Lesley University, experiences that helped shape her commitment to serving diverse individuals and families with empathy and respect. She is also able to provide care in Arabic, Armenian, and Turkish, helping make therapy more accessible for individuals who prefer these languages.
Outside of her professional work, Maria enjoys reading, collecting stamps, and listening to classical, opera, and international music. These interests reflect her appreciation for lifelong learning, culture, and the many stories that shape people’s lives.
Maria welcomes adults, seniors, and older adults across Massachusetts who are seeking support, healing, and personal growth. Through LifeStance Health, she is committed to helping clients develop the tools and confidence needed to move forward with greater clarity and fulfillment.
