Mary McQuaid, MA, LMHC,
About Mary McQuaid (She/Her)
Mary McQuaid helps adults navigate life’s challenges with compassion, practicality, and evidence-based care. As a therapist with LifeStance Health, she works with patients across Massachusetts who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, mood changes, difficult life transitions, or other emotional concerns that affect daily functioning and overall well-being. Mary creates a supportive environment where individuals can feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes.
A significant focus of Mary’s work is helping women facing postpartum depression and anxiety. She is passionate about supporting patients through the emotional, physical, and identity shifts that can accompany pregnancy, childbirth, and parenthood. Mary works collaboratively with clients to address feelings of overwhelm, adjustment difficulties, anxiety, and depression while helping them build resilience and confidence during this important stage of life.
In addition to her work with postpartum mental health, Mary has experience helping adults manage anxiety, ADHD, and depression, as well as concerns related to grief, trauma, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, bipolar disorder, and midlife transitions. She recognizes that every person’s story is unique and tailors treatment to each individual’s goals, strengths, and experiences. Her therapeutic approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based strategies, while offering additional therapeutic approaches when appropriate.
Mary earned her education through Regis College and is committed to providing mental health care that is both clinically informed and genuinely personable. She believes lasting progress often begins with a trusting therapeutic relationship and works to create a space where clients feel comfortable exploring challenges, developing coping skills, and moving toward greater emotional wellness.
Outside of her professional life, Mary enjoys embroidery, weightlifting, and singing. She also looks forward to learning a musical instrument in the future, embracing the same curiosity and growth mindset that she encourages in her clients.
Through LifeStance Health, Mary provides individual therapy to adults throughout Massachusetts. Whether someone is seeking support for postpartum depression and anxiety, anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, or other life challenges, she is dedicated to helping them build the tools they need to thrive.
