Maria Daniels, LCSW, is dedicated to providing compassionate and evidence-based mental health care to individuals, couples, and groups across Maryland. With over 30 years of experience, she helps adolescents, adults, and seniors navigate life’s challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use issues. Maria understands that seeking therapy can feel overwhelming, and she works to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and empowered.

Maria specializes in helping individuals struggling with alcohol and drug use, PTSD and trauma, and midlife transitions. She knows that addiction and trauma can deeply impact daily life, relationships, and self-worth. Using a combination of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness techniques, she helps clients process their experiences, develop coping strategies, and build resilience. For those facing major life changes, whether adjusting to a new phase in adulthood or navigating complex emotions from past experiences, Maria provides guidance to foster personal growth and emotional stability. In addition to individual therapy, Maria offers couples and helping clients improve communication, rebuild trust, and strengthen their relationships. She has extensive experience working with first responders, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals managing grief, obsessive-compulsive disorder, or postpartum anxiety and depression. Her integrative therapeutic approach is tailored to each client’s unique needs, ensuring they receive the support necessary for meaningful progress. Maria earned her degrees from Delaware State University and Bowie State University and has been practicing since 1994. She is passionate about advocacy and believes in empowering her clients to take control of their mental health. Outside of her work, Maria enjoys gardening and reading, finding both activities to be restorative and grounding. She brings this same sense of patience and growth to her therapeutic work, helping clients cultivate healthier mindsets and lasting change.
