Denise Urban is a professional counselor, who has been practicing for over 20 years. She is a passionate learner, completely dedicated to deepening/expanding her clinical skills and always curious about new ideas and approaches. Her goal is to provide a healing space, build collaboration, teach/model essential skills as well as offer new perspectives. Essentially, I help my clients answer the question “what makes life worth living?” and then provide the guidance needed for them to make the changes that are necessary to get there.

Being in nature always helps Denise to clear her head and adjust her perspective. Time outdoors allows her to slow down, be in the present moment and let go of the worries that are often not related to the priorities in my life. I also appreciate the reminder of the deep interconnectivity of life.

I have been to the office only once - my first visit. I have used the tele-health option since then, but will start going to the office regularly soon. First of all, the office is the perfect temperature. It's nice and clean and gives off a wonderfully calming effect. You will find music playing very softly in the background. A few of her patients highly recommended my therapist. I feel that I can be a handful, so I was a little worried that maybe she wouldn't want to see me after our initial meet and greet, face-to-face. She came down to the waiting area, herself, and took me back to her office. With the music playing softly and the furniture nice and squishy, I felt relaxed and comfy. Although it was my first time meeting her, I personally thought she was amazing. In my opinion, Denise Urban is a fabulous therapist -- warmhearted, supportive, sympathetic, and caring. She is soft spoken, which is very soothing and relaxing. I knew from our 1st visit that she was the one I wanted and needed to talk to. She took me on as her patient and I have been so thankful. She has given me the tools to face what I haven't allowed myself to face. She is helping me understand why I haven't and how to face it head-on. It's hard work and emotional, but she is helping me through it and for the first time I am letting someone in, someone I believe in and who, I feel, believes in me...
