Specializes In:
Gloria Himes, LPC, is dedicated to helping people navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence, resilience, and emotional well-being while providing compassionate, evidence-based therapy for teens, adults, and older adults across Michigan. As a Licensed Professional Counselor at LifeStance Health, she creates a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore concerns, build coping skills, and work toward meaningful personal growth. Gloria works with individuals and couples facing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and other mental health concerns, tailoring treatment to each person’s unique goals and experiences. Gloria is especially passionate about helping clients through life transitions and periods of change. Whether someone is adjusting to midlife challenges, navigating later-life transitions, or coping with grief and loss, she helps clients develop practical strategies for managing uncertainty while maintaining a strong sense of purpose and connection. Her thoughtful and collaborative approach empowers clients to move forward with greater clarity and emotional balance. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), couples and marital counseling, and parenting skills training, Gloria supports individuals, couples, and families in creating positive and lasting change. She has experience helping people manage ADHD, anxiety, and depression, while also addressing a variety of additional mental health concerns. Her work extends to specialized populations, including military veterans, first responders, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and women seeking support through complex life circumstances. Since beginning her clinical practice in 1993, Gloria has developed extensive experience helping clients strengthen relationships, improve communication, and navigate personal challenges across different stages of life. She earned her education from the University of Dayton and Antioch University, building a strong foundation for her decades of clinical work. Outside of her practice, Gloria enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors. She walks several miles each day, regularly visits the gym, enjoys kayaking, attends concerts, and loves spending time walking her dog.
