About David Woodard (He/Him)
David Woodard helps adults and older adults across Missouri navigate life’s challenges with compassion, clinical expertise, and a practical approach to lasting change. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at LifeStance Health, he provides individual therapy, case management, and support for substance use concerns, helping patients build resilience, improve emotional well-being, and work toward meaningful personal goals. He works with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, alcohol and drug use issues, and other mental health concerns, while also offering support for a wide range of additional challenges.
A particular area of passion for David is helping individuals who are recently discharged from psychiatric hospitalization and those involved in court-ordered treatment programs. He understands that these situations often come with unique stressors and obstacles, and he strives to provide a supportive, structured environment where patients can regain stability, strengthen coping skills, and move confidently toward recovery. His approach emphasizes accountability, dignity, and hope while helping patients successfully transition into their next chapter.
David incorporates evidence-based interventions tailored to each person’s needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based approaches. He also offers additional therapeutic techniques to support individuals facing complex mental health concerns. He has experience working with members of the LGBTQ+ community and individuals with developmental disabilities, creating an affirming and inclusive space where patients feel respected and understood.
Believing that growth is possible at every stage of life, David works collaboratively with patients to identify strengths, develop practical solutions, and create sustainable strategies for emotional wellness. He values a therapeutic relationship built on trust, authenticity, and mutual respect, empowering patients to take an active role in their mental health journey.
Outside of his clinical work, David enjoys exercise, meditation, and pursuing personal growth practices that support overall well-being. He earned his education from Washington University in St. Louis and Pittsburg State University, experiences that helped shape his commitment to serving diverse populations.
