Abigail Citty, LCSW,
About Abigail Citty (She/Her)
Abigail Citty, LCSW, is a Quality Rostered Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) therapist dedicated to helping individuals heal from trauma, overcome life’s challenges, and create meaningful, lasting change. I strive to provide a compassionate, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe exploring their experiences, building resilience, and working toward their personal goals.
My clinical interests include trauma recovery, anxiety, depression, substance use concerns, anger management, self-worth and self-esteem issues, grief and loss, life transitions, and complex mental health challenges. I am particularly passionate about working with individuals whose experiences are shaped by socioeconomic factors, systemic barriers, and other multifaceted life circumstances. I recognize the impact that culture, identity, environment, and lived experiences have on mental health and tailor treatment to each client’s unique strengths and needs.
As a first-generation college graduate, I especially enjoy supporting first-generation college students as they navigate academic pressures, family expectations, identity development, and the challenges that can accompany being the first in their family to pursue higher education. I am also committed to providing affirming and inclusive care for members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
My therapeutic approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and evidence-based. While I specialize in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma, I integrate a variety of modalities to meet the unique needs of each client. My clinical work draws from Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems Theory, Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Behavioral Modification techniques, Mindfulness-Based interventions, Psychoeducation, and Grief Counseling. I believe therapy should be tailored to the individual, empowering clients to gain insight, build effective coping strategies, strengthen relationships, and create sustainable change.
I believe therapy is not about fixing people but about helping them recognize their strengths, develop self-compassion, and move toward lives that align with their values and goals. My aim is to provide a therapeutic space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout their healing journey.
