Megan is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who obtained her Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2017. Megan was raised in Rowan County, North Carolina. Megan has experience in working with young children, starting at ages 3 and up. Her passion is working with the “littles.” Megan primarily utilizes play-based therapy in working with children ages 3 to 10. Megan received training from University of North Carolina at Charlotte in Child-Centered Play Therapy, which is an approach that meets children where they are and allows them the space to grow and learn at a pace that fits the child. Megan has also worked with pre-teens, adolescents, and adults and utilizes primarily Person-Centered approach, which puts the individual in the lead. Megan has been known to utilize other approaches when it will be of benefit to the individual. Megan also enjoys sharing parenting strategies with parents and is currently working towards obtaining Registered Play Therapist credential in the future as play therapy is a deep passion. Megan also enjoys reading, writing, and has a deep love of cats, and most of all, spending time with her husband.
