About Joanna Hudson (She/Her)

Joanna Hudson, LCSW, helps adolescents, teens, adults, and older adults navigate life’s challenges with compassion, clinical expertise, and a commitment to meaningful change. Joanna provides individual therapy for patients across North Carolina who are seeking support for concerns such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD/trauma. Joanna creates a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where patients can explore their experiences, build resilience, and develop practical strategies to improve emotional well-being and daily functioning. A particular passion of Joanna’s is working with individuals who have recently been discharged from a psychiatric hospital. She understands that transitioning from a higher level of care back to everyday life can feel overwhelming and uncertain. Joanna helps patients strengthen coping skills, maintain progress made during treatment, navigate ongoing mental health needs, and establish a path toward long-term stability and recovery. Her thoughtful, collaborative approach supports patients as they rebuild confidence and move forward with greater hope. Joanna also works with individuals facing anxiety, depression, and trauma-related concerns, while offering additional support for a range of mental health and life transition challenges. She has experience helping LGBTQ+ individuals and others who may be navigating identity development, grief, major life changes, or complex emotional experiences. Recognizing that every person’s journey is unique, she tailors treatment to each patient’s goals, strengths, and circumstances. Her therapeutic style integrates evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She also offers additional therapeutic interventions designed to help patients build emotional awareness, improve coping skills, and create lasting behavioral change. Outside of her clinical work, Joanna enjoys cooking and watercolor painting.
