Lillian Outlaw, MSW, LCSW,
About Lillian Outlaw (She/Her)
Lillian Outlaw, LCSW, provides compassionate, evidence-based therapy for adults in North Carolina, helping individuals navigate emotional and mental health challenges with confidence and resilience. She specializes in treating mood disorders, anxiety, and personality disorders, offering individualized care that considers each person’s unique experiences, strengths, and needs. With a warm and supportive approach, Lillian creates a space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives.
Lillian is passionate about supporting individuals navigating the complexities of parenthood, relationship challenges, emotional regulation, and the challenges of staying connected to themselves through the demands of everyday life.
Lillian holds additional certification in complex trauma and brings a trauma-informed perspective to her clinical work, recognizing how past experiences, relationships, and environments can influence emotional well-being and patterns of coping. She also has professional experience in the field of addiction, supporting individuals affected by substance use and the challenges that can accompany recovery. Her experience also includes working with individuals from marginalized and underserved communities and recognizing the systemic barriers that can affect access to care, resources, and overall well-being.
Drawing from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Lillian helps clients develop practical tools to manage stress, regulate emotions, improve relationships, and develop healthier patterns of thinking and responding. Her clinical work is also informed by training in Polyvagal Theory, which supports a deeper understanding of the connection between the nervous system, emotional regulation, and overall well-being.
For those seeking faith-based counseling, she also offers the option of incorporating Christian faith and values into the therapeutic process.
Outside of her clinical work, Lillian finds fulfillment in her faith in Jesus, motherhood, volunteering, exercise, and traveling. She believes that continued growth, both personally and professionally, strengthens the compassion, authenticity, and perspective she brings to her work with clients. Lillian is currently pursuing a PhD to deepen her knowledge and strengthen the clinical insight, research-informed perspective, and therapeutic skills she brings to her work with clients.
