About Emmylou Madison (She/Her)
Emmylou Madison, LCMHC, helps children, adolescents, teens, adults, and older adults navigate life’s challenges with compassion, practical guidance, and evidence-based mental health care. At LifeStance Health, she provides therapy for patients throughout North Carolina, creating a supportive environment where individuals and families can build resilience, strengthen relationships, and work toward meaningful personal growth. Her clinical interests include anxiety, depression, and PTSD/trauma, and she offers care tailored to each person’s unique experiences and goals. Emmylou provides individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy, partnering with patients to better understand patterns that may be contributing to emotional distress or relationship difficulties. She incorporates proven therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help patients develop effective coping strategies, improve emotional regulation, and move forward with confidence. She is especially passionate about supporting individuals facing childhood behavior issues, school avoidance, and couples-related concerns. Emmylou understands how these challenges can affect daily functioning, family dynamics, academic success, and overall well-being. She works collaboratively with children, teens, parents, and couples to identify strengths, improve communication, and create lasting positive change. Her approach emphasizes trust, respect, and a strong therapeutic relationship. Whether helping a child manage behavioral concerns, guiding a teen through emotional challenges, or supporting an adult coping with anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, or trauma, Emmylou focuses on delivering personalized care that reflects each patient’s values and needs. She also offers support for a variety of additional mental health concerns and life experiences. Outside of her clinical work, Emmylou enjoys attending live music events, hiking, spending time at the beach, and exploring new foods and cultures. Cooking is an important part of her family life and one of her favorite ways to connect and celebrate with loved ones.
